Reference photos

The better the reference photo – the better the drawing.

It is worth taking some time to get the best photo you can of your pet. One that captures their true character, and is also a great quality image.

Ideally your photograph should be:

  • Taken in good light (daylight is best)

  • In focus, with details such as fur, eyes and whiskers nice and clear

  • Colours true to life

  • Your pet close enough to the camera

  • Large image file size (i.e. not compressed)

That said I know photographing pets can be challenging. If you aren’t sure if your photos will work just get in touch and I’d be happy to have a look.

It is sometimes possible to combine two photos, for example if you have the perfect photo but a ball is blocking one paw, it might be possible to add the paw from another photo, just get in touch and we can discuss it.

Below are some examples of good reference photos.
